Salience documentation
Welcome. Salience is a desktop app for developers — it follows the branch wherever it goes and surfaces what matters across your tools.
Start with Install if you're new, or jump straight to The Map, MCP server, or Privacy & security if that's why you're here.
Common starting points
- Install → — download, system requirements, first launch
- First run → — add a project, connect a tool, see the map fill in
- The Map → — the main surface: your work as a living map
- Connect your tools → — GitHub, Jira, AWS, Sentry, Docker
- MCP server → — point Claude, Codex, or Cursor at Salience
- Privacy & security → — where your data lives, what gets sent off-machine
Going deeper
- My Work & Stand-up → — your units of work, prioritised
- Build & run → — suggested actions, checks, stack, tasks, console
- Review → — changed files, diffs, open-in-editor
- Code Graph → — route-seeded call-graph maps (PHP today)
- Command palette & HUD → — ⌘K and the pill bar
- Dashboard, Timeline & Explore → — the secondary views
- Entities, correlations & situations → — how Salience thinks
If something isn't working, Troubleshooting → is the place to start. For everything else — questions, feedback, or just to say hi — join the Discord.
